Brian Chou, OD, FAAO
Dr. Chou completed fellowship training in refractive surgery management at Jules Stein Eye Institute, and is in private practice in San Diego. He is also a clinical investigator and industry consultant and serves as an expert witness for the California Board of Optometry.

Michael DePaolis, OD
Dr. DePaolis is Chief Optometric Editor of the professional journal Primary Care Optometry News, and is in private practice in Rochester, N.Y.

Burt Dubow, OD, FAAO
Dr. Dubow is a Past Chair of the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association and Founding Editor of Eye Quest magazine. He has been widely published in many professional journals, and is a popular lecturer and consultant. Dr. Dubow is currently senior partner of an eye care practice in St. Cloud, Minn.

Robert L. Epstein, MD
Dr. Epstein is Medical Director and Chief Surgeon at Mercy Center for Corrective Eye Surgery in Chicago. He has been performing refractive surgery for three decades and has developed several patented devices used in refractive procedures.

Valerie Kattouf, OD
Dr. Kattouf is an optometrist in private practice and on the faculty at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.

Chris A. Knobbe, MD
Dr. Knobbe is a general ophthalmologist in private practice in Denison, Texas; and is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He is the founder of EyeMDLink.com.

Mark Mattison-Shupnick, ABOM, BS
A master optician, Mattison-Shupnick directs the continuing education program for 20/20 magazine and Vision Monday. He also is an independent consultant to the ophthalmic industry, works in retail activities, conducts primary research, participates in product development projects, assists companies with technical marketing needs, and teaches classes on behalf of company, trade, and professional organizations.

Charles B. Slonim, MD, FACS
Dr. Slonim is in private practice, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the the American Medical Association.

Vance Thompson, MD
Dr. Vance Thompson has a private refractive surgery practice in Sioux Falls, S.D., is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, and is the Director of Refractive Surgery at Sioux Valley Hospital.

Joseph T. Barr, OD, MS
Dr. Barr is Vice President, Global Clinical & Medical Affairs and Professional Services for the vision care business of Bausch & Lomb. Until July 2007, he was with The Ohio State University for 24 years in various capacities including Associate Dean at the College of Optometry. He also spent 20 years as Editor of the professional journal Contact Lens Spectrum.

Liz Segrè, Editorial Director
Liz joined trade publication Eyecare Business in 1994, and is its former Editor-in-Chief. She has also held a number of editorial positions with consumer publications at Cahners Publishing. She is the former Editor & Webmaster of OptiStock News and OptiStock.com, a newsletter and website serving investors in vision care stocks; and has developed websites for various ophthalmic clients. She is the founding Editor of All About Vision.

Gary Heiting, OD, Associate Editor
Dr. Heiting's diverse background in optometry provides him with a well-rounded perspective on All About Vision's many content areas. He's practiced in a medical-surgical setting, was a refractive counselor at a laser vision correction center, and served as director of professional relations and education for Pentax Vision, an ophthalmic lens manufacturer. Ten years ago, he co-founded one of the first eye care patient education websites. Dr. Heiting is also Editor of both Refractive Surgery News and Contact Lens Headlines.

Heather Stevens, Web Developer & SEO Manager
Heather develops interactive content and manages the organic search engine optimization and paid search marketing for this and other company-owned websites. Her BS in marketing is from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she studied Internet marketing, database marketing, sales force management.

Sonal Blackburn, Surgeon Directory Webmaster
Sonal earned a BS in Biology from Northern Illinois University and a BA in English Literature/Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Prior to All About Vision, she worked as a web/graphic designer and consultant and in trade-school administration, marketing, and design and content management. 

Stephen Bagi, Design Director
A veteran of graphic design, Steve has held Art Director, Design Director and Creative Director positions with a number of advertising agencies in the Philadelphia area, where he has developed successful campaigns for such clients as First USA bank, Southwest Airlines and Cahners Publishing.

He holds a journalism degree from the University of Missouri, and is a founding partner of Access Media Group.

Ron Walker, Publisher
Ron was co-founder of Eyecare Business and Contact Lens Spectrum magazines, and the Contact Lenses Today e-newsletter. His 30-year career in vision care includes both publishing and retail advertising. He is a founding partner of Access Media Group.

Laura Johansen, Advertising Administrator and Marketing & PR Specialist
Laura manages the advertising placement and reporting system for this and other company-owned websites, tracking and analyzing advertising campaign performance. She also works on all our marketing and PR programs, and does article editing. Laura obtained her BA in communications with a minor in marketing at San Diego State University, graduating magna cum laude.
